BMW Z4, newer versions as I love the metal roof. Fuel economy (or lack of) put paid to that.
VW golf GTD, not bad but Golfs are way too common and not particularly exciting.
TT Tdi, I'm coming from a TT so ultimately wanted something different.
Audi Q5, couldn't really justify as I have no need for a 4x4.
Merc E class coupe, first choice for looks but drives blandly and is actually quite a dull drive.

All the above are the same or a little less to what I already pay a month, which ultimately is no good as I felt the need to be more economical.

The A1 is the only new car i considered... Nothing comes close to what i wanted in a new car. Great residuals, £0 RFL, great build quality, high mpg, 5 year service deal.

It's a winner imo. :)
Couldn't agree more! Even wanted a White tt tdi too, although no kids for me to consider! And u remembered my name!! ;-)

if i could have afforded it i would have gone for the golf gtd... but for an extra thousand you may as well get the proper petrol version... the gti!

this is were you start going around in circles though!
Ha ha tell me about it! It was hard not going "sod it" and going for a dearer car, I'm really excited about my A1 so I think I've made the right choice. And totally right, new GTi is lovely, especially in White.

YES! especially with the bigger alloys and xenons...

ok we need to stop this NOW or we will end up talking ourselves into trading the a1 in
Ha ha yeah it needs the 18s, xenons, tech pack...etc! Shame it comes in at over 30k new! Not worth it for a golf. Anyway back to the A1, which I don't even have yet :-(

Well hopefully wen they whack up womens insurance next yr ours will go down...ive hard around 8% drop for men
about time :D
Wait until Sahar reads this, she will have us all in handcuffs if our insurances are not spot on... Hide your TMC boxes guys! Haha ;)
Oi! It really seems like you want to be in handcuffs! I'm sure it can be arranged...by Bartlett!! I'd do it but I don't belong in your White A1 boys gang :)! Besides I don't even know what a TMC box is so u can breath easy!

Interesting reading about insurance though, I get mine through a specialist police insurer who take into account things like beig an advanced Tpac driver, yet my insurance almost doubled! Could it be cos I'm a girl!? Ha ha but not this time, geography is a huge factor. I've gone from living in Alderley Edge, a Cheshire village, where my insurance cost £650 PA to living in Didsbury, Manchester. Still nice but due to the postcode insurance shot up to £1350. And I have over 10 years no claims. It's hard work being a lady ;-)

Come on love lets not got all jealous on us lol u can tag along behind us lol

And its about time you women had insurance put up...u have more small dings then men, but wen men crash we crash properly lol
Love!?!? Ha ha yeah us girls have had it easy in terms of insurance, it isn't fair that it should b cheaper just cos I'm a girl. Round where I used to live, there are a lot of wealthy people whose wives drive big 4x4s, and by god they can't drive them, little dings everywhere. Can't argue with that!

And asking a girl to tag along behind you isn't playing fair ;-)

Alderley Edge is very posh, isnt it?... I was in Didsbury a few weeks ago in my A1, visting some music people, lucky you didnt know me then as you would have pulled me over, with my stash of Diet Coke, haha.
Alderley Edge isn't posh, it's pretentious, full of very wealthy people such as footballers. (for u footy fans, yaya toure, Anderson, rio, tim cahil, joel lescott, owen Hargreaves, balotelli, and Wayne bridge all lived on our old street, or neighbouring streets.)

didsbury is much cooler and more to my age-group, as for diet coke stashes, ha ha!

very good point sahar you just made about location...

i have 2 locations which i can insure my car at, one in warwick, the other in hull... warwick is 1600 for the year and with the same details at the hull address, the insurance company told me to jog on... no way would they give me insurance if the car was kept in hull
Why are there 2 locations linked to u? Home and business or have u already made your fortune ;-)

Frankie is very pretty admittedly, but is she not too skinny!?

Anyway it'll be ok, I'm sure you'll get promoted again at some point in your life ;-) sorry that was a cheap dig. I actually quite like west ham...!

SWG that made no sense me sorry but its the thought behind the reply that counts lol
The moments gone when I have to explain my own jokes! Anyway I blame my iPhone for my typos. Right bed, on earlies 2moro and I need my beauty sleep. It's what keeps me beautiful :).

And Mojito, I am single now so am up for A1 dogging/dating antics! I am joking by the way! Night!! X

How about an A1 literacy section too, some of this literally makes no sense whatsoever!
+1 - vowels rule!
Give me some credit, even my most illiterate posts had vowels :)

And yes, strictly on-topic! (not sure what to do with myself now!)

Exactly...MOJITO is like the big brother on here lol

I hope i'm wrong but most of the people seem ok but there are a few that appear to be ( as top gear put it ) a cock...and act like most of the dealers themselves.

Almost offended because youngsters own a audi.
I have generally found most people to be a lot of fun here, but like anything, there will always be people who haven't got the same personality and thus find it more difficult to 'banter' with. On the TT forum there was a guy who was really abusive cos I damaged one of my wheels and thought Audi's quote was a bit steep.

Anyway that reply took about 20 minutes to type as I wanted to make sure it was grammatically perfect ;-)

While it's easier to read good writing in discussions, i myself have no problem with people who use short text. Some people are using mobile phones on here to reply, which can be a bit of a pain typing full on essay replies.

People have to realise that the A1 is aimed at all age groups and all walks of life... I think it is best to come across as the real 'you' not some stiff un-humoured Audi owner, unless you really are one...

I am being myself on here, the same attitude and humour as at home, with friends and on Facebook, if i was restricted to being someone i wasnt... I wouldnt visit the forum.
If this was facebook I'd be pressing the 'Like' button. Well said Mojito! (this can't be your real name!?)

I kinda feel like a naughty schoolgirl (no comments!) because, a) typos and spelling mistakes, and b) leading the forum astray!

I do agree that if u can't be yourself on a forum then when can u be yourself ;-)

Anyway I also considered an A3 but didn't really look into them as they r super common and there's a new one next year!

Precisely, little A4 which is fine in itself...but if I wanted an A4, I'd buy one. Anyway I'm saving up for the Audi Quattro when it comes out, now that's a nice car!

Audi Quattro? Tell me more!
Hallo nameless one, the new Quattro is based on the RS5 I think, but shorter. Looks amazing and with an amazing 80k pricetag... Jollyretard, please make your fortune quickly and marry me so that I can have one ;-)
