Bought a copy of 'What Car?' mag yesterday - they report that someone got a brand new A1 as a result of being mis-sold an A1 without heated mirrors. The article erroneously states that it's not possible to retro-fit heated mirrors!
I've checked the 'What Car?' website, but this article is not on it, so I can't provide any links - you will have to buy the current copy to read it (it's in a sealed cellophane bag with a freebie 'New cars for 2013' publication).

18th October 2012 - In our last update we mentioned that Audi UK have now accepted our point and heated mirrors are now standard on all Audi A1s. However, we have been working with Advanced In-Car Technologies and now have a retro-fit solution. Call them on 01202 776699 and mention the A1 Owners Club to get a free upgrade to include auto-dipping passenger mirror (dips when reversing to ease parking).[/quote]

Is this still available? I just bought a 2011 A1 without heated mirrors and find it rather annoying! Haha

How much does it cost to get them fitted?

Yeah it's still available. We're not a sponsor over here so we can't really push it that much. Since we created the retrofit last year we have probably done about 50 vehicles all with great success... Still the only company that has officially done it.

You do need to get down to us as it has to be done at our HQ but that hasn't stopped people from all over the UK coming down. Even had a couple of people drive down from Scotland which is pretty impressive.

This is a really easy retro fit that can be done cheaply. I don't mind helping anyone who needs it.

All you need is some thin wall wire, 2 repair wires and two new heated mirrors off ebay for example (although TPS sell fairly cheaply) and its done. Check out one of your friendly forum buddies with VCDs for coding and sorted. About two-three hours work and possibly less than £100.

Yeah heated mirrors are very much essential for the safety especially during the foggy weather conditions and better to be done by dealer to avoid and discrepancy.

Totally agree... It's come to that time of year where people are starting to realize that they don't have heated mirrors. Unfortunately this retrofit isn't available at main dealer level. We're the only genuine guys in the UK that can do this, this being because we made the retrofit from scratch.

Sorry to raise this again, but has anyone recently had their mirrors retro fit upgraded to heated by www.advanced-incar.co.uk

I have emailed them to enquire if I can have it done.

My A1 only has electric mirrors, but not heated, folding or dipping, I would like all of this if possible at a reasonable price.
