Go drive it for 30-40 mins between 2500-3000rpm (use 4th or 5th on a motorway). This would normally clear the DPF out.

As for the EGR, not sure... Might be solved by the above.

Problem is, if it is stuck in limp mode, not sure if it will let you do a run to allow a passive re-gen.

 

Yeah tried that we first had to fix egr because car wouldn't regenerate now that's sorted car goes into regenerate mode through vag.com takes the car out of limp mode when we do that but doesn't do anything for the dpf really just wondering is there to much soot at 72g or could it be something else will post vag results

 

Yea, it is possible it's just too clogged up to burn out in a re-gen. Might be possible to clean it manually save the expense of replacing it.

 

think youre right was just hoping it was something I was missing will have a chat with garage and see if its possible to clean

 

In my experience usually to do a re-gen you can't have any fault codes in the engine ecu other than relating to the dpf & the fuel warning light can't be on either, as both will prevent the re-gen from being carried out.

 

Hi I have just had my erg valve unit replaced luckily it was under warranty was 6 and a half hours labour, total came to £1016. Hope you're find a cheaper solution.

 

Reason its in Limp mode as you need the EGR valve/cooler replacing, I got mine done at a local VAG-Com specialist, part was £360, plus £160 labour inclusive of VAT.

 

Yeah replaced egr my self then changed dpf filter but it was second hand now my problem I think is the dpf sensor went to regenerate it today one reading is saying 51 grams of soot the other soot measured at start 22grams then went for a drive the 51 grams stayed the same but the 22grams went down to 4 grams of soot the two measurements seem so far apart so I'm hoping the sensor is faulty because it will not come out of limp mode till the 51 grams is sorted

 

Thanks for all your help replaced dpf with second hand one off a right off all going great now fingers crossed now what I want to do is clean out old dpf just have to figure how to do it thx
