This is now going into my third month of being the proud owner of a A1 2.0 tdi black edition.

Although it wasnt love at drive, im beginning to like it.. It was because i traded in a 2011 TT 2.0 TFSI.

Now.. I have a few questions about the A1.

Does anyone find that the seat belt cuts into the neck.. They seem to have taken away the height adjuster on the A1

Mine seems to do its cleaning process quite often for some reason, and Ive also noticed that sometimes even after waiting for the coil light to go off.. its a little chuggy (lol) at starting. Also noticed seems that when its up to temperature and I change gear and my foots on the accelerator pedal you seem to get a wurring noise, take your foot off the pedal and it stops. I know turn the music up higher. lol

Anyone else noticed these things. and also is there anything I should look out for...

Yes there are about 5 of us here with 2.0 TDI BE A1's that have the starting problem.

Have any of you done anything about the starting problem. Find it a little embarrassed when it chuggs on starting. No one else noticed the wurring noise from the accelerator pedal. Thanks mojito. Check out your threads constantly as your the guru on this website. I forgot to request it be debadged so did it myself and thing it looks loads better. Took it on 1st motorway trip last week. Was funny I think people see a little car and want it out the way. Even some A3 drivers don't realise what it is. So had to show them. Lol. So I know you all custom your cars. What does anyone recommend I do to make it my own.

Also any solutions on the seatbelt guys. Really cuts into my neck. Cheers guys

The only solution for the seatbelt (I always have it whether there is and adjuster or not) is to buy a seatbelt pad to put around it to pad it out slightly or adjust the hight of your seat until it doesnt

My A1 has height adjustment on the seat belts. I discovered it by accident as it is quite well hidden, but the section on the door pillar slides up and down.

I think someone has booked their BE in, so we await details. Maybe a software update recall will cure this.

I was thinking about removing my TDI badge... Im not too sure yet as i like to keep it original.

You are right about the A1 being underestimated... As its a small car, people seem to think it is a 1.2 Petrol or a small Diesel and tend to try and bully it, to their embarrassment LOL.

If you want to customise your A1 there are a few things listed in the how to section.

Remap or tuning box (i will be doing this )
Storage boxes retrofit
LED Foglights
VCDS mods
Wheel spacers
Cruise control retrofit

Among many more, just dont chav it up! :lol:

My A1 has height adjustment on the seat belts. I discovered it by accident as it is quite well hidden, but the section on the door pillar slides up and down.

Sounds like that's another difference between the 3 door and the Sportback

Thanks for replying. Will you keep me updated on the poor starting problem. I will also post some more pics of my car now its debadged. I sort of kept thinking to myself keep the badges on, then decided I would buy maybe the S Badge that id seen on ebay.. So firstly I removed TDI and left on the A1. Just kept looking at it, and it didnt seem right, so took of A1.... and to be honest its looks better, I know it sounds odd, but it sort of makes the lights stand out more and makes the back of the car look more beefier lol.. personal preference I know, but I'll do the photos and upload them.

I would'nt know where to start the VCD's and would worry me sick incase I did it wrong, but I do like the idea of the storage retrofit.. Where do I get that from?

I may sound a little thick, but what are wheel spacers? and where do I get them from..

I dont intend to chav it think it looks pretty cool on its own... One thing I may do.. is My TT before the wing mirrors were all painted in the colour of car.. I may look at my local Audi bodyshop to spray it all, the stalk and underneath the indicator too... Apparently they are if not the same as the TT, Just wish they were heated though. Can you have the retrofit too..

As mine wasnt an ordered item as was in the showroom, it doesnt have the connectivity pack, seems all you guys have that. MY TT and A4 Avant before had Sat Nav but I never really used it, so I cant say I missed out on the pack, I stream my music from my iphone or SD card..

Yes i will, there is a poor starting thread on here so keep an eye on that.

Dont bother with the S badge unless you want to attract the local clowns to your rear bumper.

VCDS, i offer that service via a visit to my home at a very small cost. The cable costs around £265 so i am just trying to recover my costs haha.

Storage retrofit is £13 from SEAT dealers. Look in the how too section on here.

Wheel spacers will make your A1 look beefier! And fill those arches! 20mm each wheel max is about the limit.

Mirrors sprayed sounds good... Heated mirror retrofit kit by Audi is coming soon.

Connectivity pack is a good option but i think the satnav sd card is a rip off at £500 :lol:
