I have a 2012 A1 1.4 TFSI and it uses an excessive amount of oil. I have taken it back to the Audi Service Centre Cairns many times. An employee who no longer works there acknowledged very early on that I needed an engine rebuild. Instead I got a hose replaced. I Keep getting told that it's normal to use a lot of oil. If that is the case, I should have been advised that my oil light will come on and I need to refill the oil every 5000kms or less. Last time I left the dealership they gave me a bottle of oil to carry around. My car also drops in and out of gear and runs rough intermittently. I have written and spoken with Audi Australia and they say more testing needed. Where are my rights as a consumer?

Is your car MY12? I thought the MY12 onwards engines are revised for this fault.
A few on here have had new engines which solved the problem.
My advice is create a written log of the date, mileage and amount of oil you have topped up by.
My MY13 has only used 1 litre in 8000 mies. It required a top up at 5k as per running in guidlines.
