This was my first ever attempt at tinting windows and first time wrapping since i attended a course. It went pretty well! although ive found a couple of marks that is bugging me, so might re-do some of the work in the future.

Happy with the results though :D

Hope you like!

BUMP
After reading this thread last night I ordered 3 metres of the gloss black myself (forgot to order squeegee etc tho :( ) and decided to do my roof lines. Never done it before, but, my apprenticeship was in upholstery, working with the proper Vinyl (Ambla) and done a few roofs on mine and friends cars. Also done bar fittings and car interiors (vintage).

So ..... hopefully have a go this week if i get the time.

Ok took some pics, still bloody raining lol.

Please note that i was rushing when i wrapped this, so i left the top a tiny bit rough, if i took a little longer it would have been perfect, but i figured it wasnt visible with the bonnet closed so i rushed it lol.
I could have made it perfect if i had taken a little longer

Wrapping courses here

Course was a great day, really enjoyed it, we did a private course (just myself and 2 mates attended it) it sure helped me with some tricks and just abit of extras hands on that i hadnt had before (vinyl is expensive to just play around with if your nervous about using it).
On the course they provide you with a full log of vinyl to just play with as you like :) they hire in a car and you clean and wrap it throughout the day, they give you the tools you used for free at the end of the day with a couple of metres of vinyl to take home too :)

Cant believe they are still doing it so cheap!

Vinyl wrapped mate, just kept the surround in situ, cleaned it with IPA to make sure it wasnt coated in silicone or wax etc...
Then used a few different squeegees and a variable heat gun.
Took about 40 mins to do it :) gloss black and looked very OEM black edition, must have cost all of ÂŁ5 at most to DIY lol.

The vinyl is ÂŁ8.25 + VAT per metre, and 1 metre is more than enough to do about 4 grilles, or once if you make 3 cock-ups lol.

2 metres was enough to do 2 contrast lines and my grill, but i would order more if its your first time as it only takes a small crease to cock it up!

Also get a felt tipped and 100% felt squeegee, anything too hard will scratch the vinyl, i also have soft cotton gloves (yes i look like a magician with them on lol) but helps against heat from the heatgun and helps shape the vinyl.

Hope this helps a little?

I Know ... My Work is taking me there. Ive got the Job and specialist training programme I have wanted for the last couple of years and everything I have done career wise has been to get me to this point.

As the days draw closer im already anxious about moving and leaving everything, everyone behind and being alone up there :(

Proud Yorkshireman till the end ... I wont forget that, dont worry !
