Small cars are much more fun to drive. I drove a SAAB 95 with 210 bhp last week. Loved getting back in my 1.6 TDI Ibiza, it may be slower but: quick enough for the road, responsive steering with little body roll, snappy brakes and better gear changes. Definitely the most fun car I've owned, even though it's the second slowest car I've owned.

Most my friends say the Ibiza and A1 are girls cars. I don't care, I'm a man with a girlfriend and I'm still going to get the A1. With Bose and lots of other options! Just got to pay the Ibiza off first.

As i have said previously, it is a little car so some people automatically think... Girls drive small cars so they can park it properly, etc. It is a thing that people need to get over, these days small does not equal, girly, low powered, low quality... They seem to picture it as the small nerd with thick glasses in the playground that is easily bullied and picked on, lol.

So actually i don't think it is girly or gay! It all comes down to 'its small'
You'd like to think that wouldn't you

I wanted a small car because I need something easier to find space for, a car not too expensive in these harsh economic times but one that I feel really good about driving. I test drove a much cheaper ford fiesta and then an A1 and the difference just blew me away. The A1 was clearly much more fun and easier to drive.

I actually don't care if it is driven mostly by girls or not, it's what I want. But I wanted to know how much this mattered to drivers out there, and from some of the responses i can see that asking this question has ruffled a few feathers. If it means anything, I recently watched a mixed group of young people outside a trendy restaurant off Oxford street, admiring an Amfi white s-line. And could see clearly that to a man (or woman) they'd all have one given the opportunity.

Whilst sat in my A1, i quite often hear people saying positive things about the A1 as they walk past...

It does tend to attract the rear bumper ass clowns though, no idea why? I drive casual as to not attract them, but they still need to try and prove something..

Just floor it they soon get scared

I agree, me and the other half have a habit of sitting in the car to relax a bit first before getting out after a journey. A number of times people have walked past and made positive comments on the car without realising we were sat in it.

I probably do get people driving closely behind me sometimes but I think I tend to subconsciously acknowledge it and forget about it rather than getting stressed lol. If somebody really takes the **** then I take pleasure in driving like a very cautious, partially sighted old grandad :D

At the end of the day buying a car is a personal thing...
If someone thinks that having a massive Landrover, while never being outside of a big city, or a huge BMW etc makes them more men...well that is their problem. They should stop considering their car as the extension of their small body part

If you want something that looks nice, feels nice when you drive and you can trust the technology on it, the A1 is a good choice! Was between the Golf, Leon, and then DS3, Ibiza, Fiesta, Mito and i had the A1 as one of the options, but not really keen on it initially...
After we decided with the other half to go for a smaller (still no kids etc...so no need for that much space yet) car, and after test driving the above...the A1 did stand out...

so people who enjoy labels will still say things, but who cares...

My son is looking to buy an A1 but worried what his mates will say. 🤦‍♀️I have told him who cares, If you like something buy it not because someone else tells you. It's a lovley car is arrow grey (light matte colour) 👌

My wife got the 2023 A1. It’s as big as the A3’s. Aggressively styled and looks quite masculine especially compared to the old A1’s. I’m very happy to drive it, looks the business and it’s a sporty drive. People need to stop with the girlie / gay nonsense.
