Originally I wanted to go diesel, but after reading about various Dpf issues (not just Audi) I started to look for a compromise. Considering my daily drive, the 1.4 TFSI petrol seems to fit the requirements.

How do people rate the performance?

I have read reviews where there is mention of the long gearing hindering the performance\Drive? Is this so or are the reviews being too critical?

Just returned from a test drive in A1.4Tfsi Sportback S-Line (They did not have a 1.4 3 door).

To quote dumb and dumber "I like it, I like it a lot!".

Had a 30 minute test drive over various roads feels nice and comfy with good feel through steering and good road holding.
Remap would make it even better...

Did not like the ear pounding you get by the wind, with the driver's window open going down dual carriage ways however! Had to put window up 3/4.

Does this happen on the 3 door as well?
