21 in march, coming from A Clio 1.2 TCE (100ps ish..) which is nothing, A1 is SUCH a bump up in every way, so happy with the purchase (1.4TFSI S-Line, S-Tronic, White, grey contrast, with all extras apart from sunroof and satnav.

Also being reasonably young in the last year I've had trouble obtaining finance for a new car, I've actually bought an Alfa Mito, and Mini Cooper but then got declined... then low and behold went into Audi bought the most expensive out of the three and got accepted straight away, but GLAD beyond belief it worked out that way (=

I'm 21 in march too!

I have had a:

Corsa sxi 53 plate (for a year)
Fiesta Zetec (09 plate which is my current car that goes back in march too)
And soon my A1 1.4 Sport in White!

Glad to see there are other young A1 drivers too. I have the car financed in my name and no issues. My fiesta was in my mums name as I was 18 when I got it.

think i can vouch for everyone when i say you wont be dissapointed with your a1, ive had 6 new cars in total and the a1 is the only one i felt special when it was handed over all the others the vauxhal honda renault all seemed to give you the keys with the attitude off pi$$ off and dont come back, this annoyes me when youve just handed over so much cash the a1 was handed to me under a silk sheet in the showroom and i really do feel if the other half had come with me their would of been a bunch of flowers for her, i was so impressed i wanted to give my sales man a tip but he would not accept anything off me, so i wrote to the manager to say how pleased i was with the service id had

33 years old here, with a mixed bag of cars over the last 15+ years which have cost me a small fortune - as all have been brand new (apart from the very first)...

Sierra 1.6 (first car, gift from Grandfather)
Peugeot 106 1.1 ZEST Special Edition
Toyota Yaris 1.3 SR
Toyota Corolla 1.6
Ford Focus ST 1.8
Honda Civic 1.8 petrol
Honda Civic Type S 2.2 diesel
VW Polo GTI 1.8
VW Golf MK6 SE 1.4 TSi
New shape VW Polo SEL 1.4 DSG (bought in March 2010, my current car)

Best car of all these? The Toyota Yaris, by a country mile. Pretty stylish when it was released, pokey as anything and absolutely bullet proof.

Worst of these? All of the VWs. Each one has had numerous problems, and VWs response to those has been shocking at times.

Here's hoping that the Audi part of the VAG experience is much better! My Father is an 35,000 miles p.a. kind of guy, and currently has a 2010 A4 2.0 DSG Quattro and cannot sing Audi's praises enough. In short, he's been their best sales & marketing tool for me. That car is just brilliant, luxurious and incredibly reliable.

I'm now counting the days until I get my hands on my white Audi A1 Sport 1.4 TSFI DSG, due in the UK in January (hopefully)...it was due to have been built w/c 20th December, but I have to wait until next week for an update from the re-opening Factory in Brussels

At 47, I have a dismal car history of cars, many of which were not my own choice :-

Austin 1100 banger (my learner car bought by Dad when I was 17)
Morris Marina 1.8 Super De Luxe rustbucket! (Dad's old car!)
MG Midget 1500cc - bought this one myself when I was about 21 years old and sold it for more several years later
Ford Escort 1.3 - bought off my employer
Fiat Panda 1.1 - given to me by an employer
Vauxhall Astra 1.4 - bought myself
Nissan Micra 1.2 - first new car
2002 Toyota Corolla - 1.4 T3 - second new car - brilliant but boring car which I have just sold.

...and now the Audi A1 - best car by miles! It's taken me a long time to work my way up to this, so I am really overjoyed at buying a small 'premium' car at long last.

I am pleased to see that I am not the only A1 buyer to have owned a Morris Marina - LOL!

1.6 Civic Coupe
2.0 16v Turbo Fiat Coupe
2.0 20v Turbo Fiat Coupe (260bhp modified) (fav car to date and most fun!!)

I'm 30, but will be 31 by the time I order my A1.

My car history is very short considering I've been driving over 13 years:

1st car: J reg Renault Clio 1.4RT (Passed my test in Oct 97, but didn't get my first car until July 99, which got written off in Aug 00)

2nd car: N reg Renault Clio 1.4RT Champs Elysees (Bought from a family friend in Sept 00 and had it until I got my next car in Jan 04)

3rd car: X reg Lupo GTI - had this since Jan 04 and still have it now. Love the little car and will be sorry to see it go when I get my A1. Wish I could afford to keep the lupo and get an A1!
