Is anyone else a bit annoyed at the fact a glovebox light is not standard? I would have specified it if i knew it had to be chosen as an option as its annoying as hell not having one but i assumed that it would be a standard feature?

For crying out loud my 1995 ford escort had one! it seems cheap on audi's behalf in this day and age not to include something which is so commonly fitted in all cars let alone in 2011 but in 1990!

Has anyone thought of a solution, i'm thinking of a mod here, shouldnt be too hard seeing as they've even left a nice big hole for where the light should be in the glovebox just to add further insult :x

I had the same problem with my current A5, not a cheap car and comes as standard with free fog lights, rear parking sensors, leather seats, electric adjustable lumbar support, three zone climate control. But if you want a light in the glove box, you have to buy that as part of a package :?:

Good point - I don't remember seeing any mention of a glovebox light, but maybe with the LED package??????

Yes, I found it annoying too, such a simple thing for Audi to be awkward about !

Might just look into doing a mod, and put a little one like the one in the boot area.

I didn't realise it wasn't standard! It must come with the media style pack I have. That's quite disappointing but I bet there are wires behind there!

Its a little annoying, I think the dealers should make some things a little more obvious, and Audi should really just put the light bulb in the glove box as standard.

Next they will charge for a 'Interior door handle pack' saves you rolling the window down and opening the outside handle!

wow! so let me get this straight, you have to pay £140 for an led light pack to get standard 50p filament bulb in the glovebox... cheap!

The small bootlight (on the driver's side) is a bulb indeed - just have to open up the plastic casing. Have already swapped the W5W type of standard bulb with a CANBUS error free LED. I am tempted to buy the bulb holder and wire up the other side and at least get a sensible amount of light in the boot, make it look like a 'normal' car, rather than an expensive toy with bits not put in because someone at Audi wants to be too tight !

I have just replaced my boot light and Glove box light to white LEDs... Looks alot better although as you say, the boot could do with another light.

I just need to buy some LEDs for the rear numberplate lights and replace the front orange headlight indicator bulbs for some chrome ones i have somewhere. It should then make the orange tint disappear, from the headlights.

what led bulbs are you using?

secondly is it possible to replace the rear indicator bulb to get rid of the orange colour, or is it a white bulb with orange cover in the rear light cluster?

I dont have numberplate LEDs yet...

I think you should be able to replace the rear orange bulbs with chrome ones... Ebay, i think they were £3 a pair delivered. The fronts should be the same bulbs too.

Funny you mention these, I was about to order these tomorrrow ! I also got a set, from a different eBay supplier, who has been good in the past, and has agreed to a refund for the bulbs I purchased. I got the damn error message flash up about an hour later after driving happily, thinking everything was fine.

Think the only way forward might be these (expensive) replacement units :
