Apparently there is a 2.0 TDI 143PS due for ordering in September! Could just be available for certain parts of Europe though.

I hope the UK does get this model ;)

I had a 2litre 170 a4 before and it drove like a dream. If tuned the 143 could produce that output and will be one he'll o a car......:). Would be a more fun drive than the 185 petrol I think. :/).

I had a chance to use a A3 TDI 170PS for a few days earlier this year, a great car to drive really torquey from the moment you lift the clutch. Loved it!

A rumor but, the info was extracted from Audi's ETKA system. So, could actually be real.

I think a 143 ps may have too much torque for the car. If you cam get wheel spin with a 122 ps petrol the diesel will be spinning everywhere. I know the 185 has a slip diff as standard so unless they would add that to the high power diesel.

I think it would be ok... The A3 has a 2.0 TDI 170 and it is not that much bigger than the A1. Remember, Diesel engines are heavier than a Petrol engine and the 2.0 will be even more heavier.

I've heard it will be available as a 6 speed manual or S-Tronic.

It will definitely be a great car to drive if they bring it out. Think my 185 would still win a drag race though. Lol.

Seriously, i'm thinking if the 143 is announced before i collect my A1... I will cancel and re-order the 143. Depends on price and running costs etc.

It would definitely be a much better drive than the lower power diesels but running costs would def be higher too. Kinda the same thing as the 185 is against the 122. Be interesting to see what price it will be.

Probably around the 19k mark i would say with no options. Maybe a remap on the 105 would be enough... 135-140PS?
