Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has fitted wider rims to their A1's,

I have a lot of understeer and traction issues with my Michelin PS4's and was considering going to a 18x8 rim with 225 40 tyres.

Looking mainly for scrubbing issues etc before I drop 2k on new rims etc.

Any help or advice welcome.

I've just fitted a set of 18's with a 35ET and 225/40 Pirelli Nero gt's with no problems 4 big lads in the car for a test drive no rubbing or scraping tested over speedhumps and full lock circles L and R Here's a pic hope it helps. Paul View attachment 11769

Hi Paul, thats bizzare! These are my ET42's I've got 18x8 on a 225x35 and they poke a little, surprised you got ET35 with no poke lol... didnt want to risk a 225 40 tyre but now I know it fits on yours I'll go for them next time! Hah!

looks appealing! is that a 18x8 rim then? once I've gone guns blazing I'll post with all wheels on as I only bought a singular rim to try fitment for the meantime.

Modifications in anyway? Just wondering what further I can do to mine now...

Oh thats fair enough fella, definately going to get tints aswell, I want to push the engine a little more to see what power I can get out of it but I don't want to have a yobo sounding exhaust, trying to find out from my local specialist to see whats possible with the standard exhaust (maybe a sports downpipe mind)

I don't have a space saver which I'm quite p#ssed off about however Audi thought a battery in the boot and a bottle of the foam instead will suffice which I hate using... I want to buy a space saver to see if it'll fit over the brakes and then compromise on boot space if I need to carry a space saver instead.
