So. Here is something new to my personal collection.
A new car, a new colour. A new project, but nothing like my other projects I guess.

It is an Audi, once again. an A1 Sportback, 1,6 TDi.

Optional extras were:

-bi-xenon
-led tailights
-black interior headliner
-fog lights
-leather 3-spoke steering wheel
-leather handbrake and gear boot
-steering wheel controllers for audi multimedia
-Audi multimedia system [navi, bluetooth, etc etc]
-electronic clima system
-armrest
-parktronic system
-7,5x17 wheels
-sport seats
-cruise control system

Not bad listing for a daily I think.

So here it is when I collected it two days ago.

Audi Dealership Delivery-Room

First meeting with the Golf

I introduced one to the other.

My other Audi, the blue one, was not there to talk with them

They went out for a ride together

Not a bad wheel to begin with - Needs more lowz- I know

Some quick shots of the interior

Love the lines

Hello diesel power, first time in my garage

First thing I did after getting to know the car, which gives the feeling of a much bigger Audi to be honest, in terms of quality, I did this

No giving heads up for dealerships from me

Much better

Will propably also debadge the rear for a cleaner look

Dont know if you noticed, but car is equipped with some stripes from factory. At first I was like, I will remove them, but they are rather discreet to be honest, matte ones, and will see.

While I was there, I noticed that my THULE roof rack was over the car.
Just saying, hehe.

Cheers guys :)

Well, second day of ownership, and it has begun.

It is an illness I guess, that does not go away.

So, one thing I did not particularly like in the interior of the car, was this part

I think it is practical, but not good looking for an Audi.

In the other, A3 diesel we have in the family, I had spotted a much better looking ashtray, which my father refused to trade for mine, LoL, so I ordered mine with no second thought.

Collected it from the dealership today

Boy was it good looking

No comparison

Watch the differences though (dont mind bottles and sexual implication lol)

Hadnt noticed they have difference size body to be honest

So it didnt fit

However I did notice something

Necks were removable, so, changed them and voila

Now it is perfect

Then, coming back home, I knew I had to do some work on the trunk. I was always a fan of clean looking asses and all, so debadge time.
I strongly suggest you debadge your cars when they are fresh and new if you are to do it anyway, glue is so much more friendly and kinda comes off with the letters easily.

So.

Before

And after

Again before

And after

Dat wheel gap doe

Cheers more to come !

Haha - nice hack with the ashtray! As you discovered the A1 has it's own special size - they are a nightmare to find to buy. But the option of swapping the tops might help a few others too. Good work!

Hey Mike nice to see you here :)

Even before I got the car, I have been wanting to do this thing as follows

Started removing things from the trunk

Time for some black love from 3M car wrap products

Started re-installing things

I love the quality of the cut

Reinstalled the OEM foam behind the plate

Much better

And some better shots

Daytime pics will follow to show how nice it came out.

What is more, these were ordered, and arrived in my hands as well

But more on that later.

I have also started my question here and there, for the answer to my lowering questions - yes I know it is the second week since I bought this car, but you know how it is. LoL.

Cheers, more to come

Nice car mate!! Another fellow A1 owner from Greece here ;) I plan to wrap the back of the car with 3M vinyl, and now it will be much easier thanks to your pics. I have the S-line exterior package so I think I will also be doing the gray matte spoiler above the exhaust. I have also been thinking of lowering the car BUT, if you check below the car there is a plastic (protector I guess) under the engine, which is about 10cm from the ground. Therefore lowering it increases the risk of hitting rocks etc. I may do it sometime later. Two changes I have done are white DRLs(I ll upload some pics soon) and Interior ambient blue lights. You can see my mod here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=82377&start=20 .

Enjoy your car mate!

Hello there.

Yes, definitely go for the wrapping project, it looks so much better and sexier.
Wait till this thread moves forward in time, cause we are not up to date, concerning how the car looks today.

Soon though. You will see :)
Let me upload some more progress.

Cheers

So, these were ordered and received

Had these inside

And a manual

Seems like i was a template from inside the box.
Not sure if it supplied with it though.
Thing is there is something weird about the footrest area.
We will get to that later.

It would be a bolt on, if it were like on my other cars, but here the plastic part to be replaced is missing, and the carpet in the area is like this

Not sure how I am gonna do it, but I will figure out how I guess sooner or later.

Took some time to put these on, especially the throttle one, where the clutch one needed to open some holes

Installed, look so good if you ask me

And I need to figure out how to make it look complete now

[FootRest just left to stay in place - not installed]

Cheers guys

Those are good-looking. How much did they cost you? I have found a similar set on aliexpress (obviously not original ones, neither of same quality) for 10euros.
I dont recall the exact amount, but something like 100-150euros, from the dealership.
I think you can also find them on ebay, for around 100euros, not less

Went ahead and had a visit at Thule dealers in Greece

I just love this shop

Hmmm, what are these

Well these, are the black, all new edition

of these, that I run in my golf

With the black roof and all, I just had to buy these, you know me.

Boxes were opened

Excuse the iphone pics, proper pics to follow from my camera

Proper pics then

And some better pics from the trunk job

Cheers, more to come

Good to see you from DW, you took your time!

Car got its first cleanup since I took it out the stealership

Car then got treated with CG EZ Glaze, and then some of SwissVax's finest, CRYSTAL ROCK for added protection and gloss, applied by hand.

Then I threw on the Thule box, to see how it looked. I was skeptical beforehand, thinking it would be big for this car. But boy was I wrong

Looked great, I loved it

Family meeting with Golf

And then with the other Audi

Ordered these from ebay, because the OEM aerial would not fit with box on, and because I like the clean look of it

Received them

Installed it asap

Car then got some snow time

[miss my Quattro system, I'll tell you that]

Received Some Black Audi Emblem Rings that I ordered from Germany

Great quality to be honest

So from this

To this

Removed rear one too

I was thinking to go for no badge at all, but at the moment, I installed the black one, which looks great and we shall see

I also ordered two rear-wiper-delete kits from gecleant.de, one for the A1 and one for the Golf, and waiting to receive those as well, to remove that rear wiper on the A1 as well.

In other news, I may or may not be toying with the idea of ordering this.

Let alone, having already ordered it, who knows.

Cheers

So, did my first trip. Fuel economy was out of this planet.

Even with the box on

Bought this for another project I have been thinking of

Before

Remove some plastics

Take that motor out

Oh look a hole

Plug that water pipe with a nice way

No hole anymore

Perfect fitment as expected

Looking really clean

Washed the car

I also received these

And also washed this one as well

I also had a photoshoot with the Audi, more to come soon

Cheers, more to come
