Thanks to Father Ted, TDI-Line and all those involved in the search for the part numbers...

These are exactly the same parts as Audi dealers sell but at less than half the price from SEAT dealers!

Only difference is the price!

Passenger: 6J0 882 601 4w4 (Black)
Driver: 6J0 882 602 b 4w4 (Black)
Screws: N90986802 (4 needed for each box)

A socket set ratchet with the required star bit (t20 I think)

£13.30 each including VAT.

Fitted mine yesterday to passengers side, not too difficult a job!

Don't know what I was expecting but it's not as big as I imagined.

I got mine from Trade Part Specialists (TPS) for £12.50 including screws. This is a nationwide company dealing with all VAG makes.

Was that delivered?

Ordered a passenger one from my local SEAT dealer... £13 inc VAT. Collection next week.

Ideal for storing my satnav holder and the wifes crap!

to me it would be easier to take out the seats and do them up side down as a fat ferker and strugle what size them seat runner screwsare do you think?

I wouldnt advise taking the seats out as you may set off the airbags or a fault code could appear mate! Just jack the seat up to max and find a local midget to climb under the seats to bolt it in!

Fitted the SEAT boxes to both sides - easy job - for my resident midget contortionist ;)
TIP: superglue the screw to your torx bit - helps get the first bite on the selftapper.
The drivers side has a slight rise in the carpet just under the seat.
Not a great problem if you are the main driver.
Not causing any carpet / seat movement issues and box is NOT squashed. But it is touching.
Box opens ok.
May cause concern if you are a drving instrutor and constantly changing seat postions. OR any other activity Moj can think of.

strange mine does move carpet and is fitted right? but seat is low ?? bit forward to as im short a£se
If the seat is forward the leading edge of the box should be in front of the carpet ' hump '.
I have the seat back the box still opens on the 'hump' ( must have a look whats under the hump  )
Who's got ETKA or the Audi drivers side box ??? Is there a difference?
So its a judgement call
If you move the seats all the time - may be worth researching the Audi box first.
Otherwise SEAT Box is a bargain.

By the way the SEAT box has a felt bottom inside to stop rattles.

TDi Sport (leather seats) BUT seat frames are standard across the range.

BEWARE - as Mojito has stated... (MODs maybe worth adding a warning on the opening page.)
You WILL required a VAS 6282 / VCDS to disable and enable the curtain airbag if you remove the connectors which are attached to the seat via the dark gray plate on the floor. So do'nt remove the seat unless you know what you are doing.
This how ELSAWIN describes the removal/install - no mention of removing seat rail.
Removing and installing storage compartment
Removing
- Move the front seat as far back and upwards as it will go.
- Screw out the bolts -1, 2-.
- Pull out the storage compartment -3- to the front and detach.
Installing
Install in reverse order.

Hi Everyone.!!

Just installed the seat passenger seat storage this weekend.!! Damn its hard to do, I guess i need a midget.!! It's Funny the fact that the space is different, in my case, (Mexico) i had factory installed the drivers seat storage, the weir thing is that i believe the carpet has something under that makes kinda a bulk and thats the reason my new storage doesn't open as easily as the factory fitted. Where did you guys said the sEAT mark was?? In the box? Cuz i couldn't find it.

Regards

Hi Just for your information
I bought the underseat storage boxes from SEAT - Cost 17 euro each.
Fitted them in about 20 mins a side.
I just un-did the seat at the runners ( 4 large Torx bolts)
Tipped the seats without disconecting any wires, Fitted the boxes!
Re- fitted the seats - No problems.

I asked about the seat boxes at my local Audi dealers. They tapped my chassis number into their system and suggested that because my car is a 1.4TFSI Sport the boxes would not fit my seats, apparently the seats change according to which particular version of car you have. So the boxes would fit one car and not another.
Does anyone know if this is true or have they not looked hard enough on their system?

Has anyone fitted the SEAT seat boxes to a 1.4 sport without any problem?

Thanks

IanH
