HOW TO - VCDS Coding

Unanswered Xenon Upgrade Question

Postby gwakef » Thu Nov 05, 2015 12:53 am

Hi Everyone,
1st ever post and brand new as they say....great forum and so helpful based on the information available.
I've trawled through the 49 pages of posts but yet to see the question answered regarding the additional 2 cables used in the adaption kit for Xenon Headlights. These 2 cables are supposed to be connected to a module under the dash in the footwell but there is no detailed wiring drawing or photo's
I have the VCDS cable, so once I read the posts again I should be able to figure out the necessary changes.
Just bought the daughter a 1.6 Tdi Sport on a 62 plate and in the middle of the following changes :-

Xenon upgrade with DRL ( I think is essential)
Rear LED Tail Lights
Sat Nav
Cruise Control

I only worry about the Sat Nav due to the activation code requirement at the local Audi Stealership.

Thanks for any help in the above planned changes

Yeah the sat nav will cost a wedge to activate & there is no way around it. I've asked on GPSunderground.
I have full sat nav prep, twin SD slots ETC but for the cost that Audi want to activate it I'll stick to the Garmin thanks.

Hello all members,
I am new in the forum, i have a A1 8X 2013 1.2TFSI with a wrong long coding of esp/abs since the battery was replaced, i scanned all the ecu's present in the car with VCDS, and I found in the long code area of the ESP only "0" below the scan result :

Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: 6R0-907-37x-ESP90.clb
Part No SW: 6R0 907 379 BA HW: 6R0 907 379 BA
Component: ESP9.0i front H02 0003
Serial number: --------------
Coding: 000000000000000000000000000000000000
Shop #: WSC 00046 412 00000
ASAM Dataset: EV_Brake1ESP90iBOSCH 003020
ROD: EV_Brake1ESP90iBOSCH_AU21.rod
VCID: 7EF8FC96E1E5F3CE0C-802A

When I try to input a new coding i got a pop up windows that says "request rejected" and i'm not able to code it any more, i have 3 warning lights on the dashboard (abs, esp, and tpms).

Can someone please help me have the correct coding info for this car?

Best regards

Hi,

I am having a few issues with coding the door mirrors to fold on locking and unfold on engine start up. The first set of instructions - see below - activated the folding mirrors, but the window switches on the drivers door went haywire. The drivers side window switch operated the passenger window and the switch for the passenger window on the drivers side did nothing. I couldn't open the drivers window with either switch. Also the door mirror adjustment was the same, so when the drivers side mirror switch was set to adjust the drivers mirror, the passenger mirror moved, yet moving it to the passenger side, nothing happened.

Go to control unit "42-Door Elect, Driver">> Coding - 07 >> Byte 4

Change the original coding 00010000 to 01010000

With the coding put back to the original setting I then tried anothe set of codes below, but this did nothing.
Folding Mirror when Doors Lock]
Select STG 42 (door Electrical driver)
STG Long Coding -> Function 07
Byte 4
Bit 6 Activate
STG 52 (door Electrical front passenger)
STG Long Coding -> Function 07
Byte 4
Bit 6 Activate

My car is a 2016 A1 Black Edition with the Design pack, so has folding door mirrors.

I have the VCDS scan after things went haywire if that would help.
Any help would be appreciated.

I used this info when doing the same to our S1, and it worked perfectly. I would of thought it should be the same for your car. Good luck!

Bit of help please.

I Have got the face lifted model now and about to take it to a VCDS code man the weekend
But I cannot find the coding for mirror dip in reverse in this thread anymore I had
written it down in my notes previoulys that it was on page 55 but I see the thread only goes up to 50 now
bit confused .
Can someone post the various codes for this mod please.

I can see there is one code on page one but was there another one posted if this one does not work

Cheers.
