Lofty, you might have some wait for that S5 ride - still deliberating over the 3.0l engine on my current commute..... :(

Get an A5 S-line 3.0 TDi.Cracking engine and Quattro.More than enough power with lower running costs and probably much better residuals. On the subject of the A5, has anyone seen the new ad with that funny little car, apparently it's a 1933 Jaray Stromlinie,( never heard of them) I may be one of the older members on here but I'm not that old before anyone comments :)

Hmm...I did consider that actually - one of the dealers I went to had a great stock car in last month at a really good price but I know that I'd get it then regret it and be wanting to trade it in for the S5 in no time....

Or you may buy a S5 and regret not getting the TDi every time you visit the petrol station. For about 6 months last year we only had one car between us, a 2008 RS4 Cab.As it was used as the main car the fuel costs were quite scary ( averaged about 18mpg)I don't mind putting fuel in the R8 ( similar mpg if driven sensibly) as its a weekend car so more of a hobby than a mode of transport, but I wouldn't want to run it as a daily driver.

I know what you mean, I wasn't thinking of using the S5 on a long daily commute but for 1-2 days a week it would be doable. Rest of the time it would probably be sitting on the drive anyway. However, I need to work out the job situation first....

That new 3 litre diesel sounds amazing! Who'd have thought they'd make a diesel sound exciting

Ha ha! I'm with you on that. Just can't get enthusiastic about the thought of a diesel.
